I previously told you about some of Johannesburg’s winning ways in the post: It would be a crime NOT to tell you. Now, I’ve stumbled across some MORE positive news about this thrumming city that we currently call home. Jozi has been ranked in the top spot, the numero uno big banana of cities to visit in 2015 by The Rough Guide.
Yes, I realise that it’s August and I’m a little bit slow of the mark on this one, HOWEVER, there are still 4.5 months of 2015 remaining and spring is in the air, with summer sunshine not far down the road. There’s plenty to see and do in what is clearly an up and coming tourist hot spot. Exchange rates are pretty favourable (certainly if you’re visiting from the UK). So what are you waiting for? Come and “rough” it with us in Johannesburg.
On that note, I’m off to scour my guidebooks and plan which bit of the city we’re going to explore this weekend.
Have you been to Johannesburg? What’s your top pick of things to do? Some of the places you could visit include the infamous Ponte Tower, take a walking tour of the Central Business District, head out to the slightly cheesy-but-fun Lesedi Cultural Village. Alternatively, you could wonder at the Wonder Cave. Kids will love Sci Bono Discovery Centre. Soweto is a fascinating area.
